Mobility was ranked the third highest issue for older people, even above Social Security and Medicare. Staying connected to the community is not only vital to a senior's quality of life, is also important to the social and economic health of our communities.

Now YOU can help mobility be a reality for all seniors

As a family member or friend of a senior age 60 and above you can fund an individual account for your senior, to provide transportation to the services they need or desire. As a member of the community, community agency or service organization you can set up sponsorship accounts to purchase trips for seniors.

Either type of account can be established for a specific purpose or for a general fund for the senior to access.

HSC is currently establishing this new program to help create options for seniors who don't meet eligibility requirements for other transportation programs or who can't get rides because of funding limitations or accessibility. The SAR program will be initiated first in Clark County, and then in Cowlitz, Wahkiakum, Skamania, and Klickitat.
One stop transportation shopping for seniors 60 and above. In addition to Sponsor-A-Ride, the Mobility Coordinator of Human Services Council (HSC) will work with community service providers and Southwest Washington Area on Aging case workers to develop transportation plans for older individuals who need such help.

The Sponsor-A-Ride (SAR) program is dedicated to providing access to transportation for all seniors in Southwest Washington. In addition to the fifteen established transportation providers HSC currently contracts with, we are developing a large cadre of trained, licensed and insured volunteer drivers to keep transportation costs as low as possible and to serve areas of Southwest Washington that are not currently being served. Every senior deserves the gift of mobility.
Your gift is an investment in quality of life for our seniors.
